Sharia Supervisory Board
The Guidelines and Work Procedures of the Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS) are an important element in the Company’s governance, especially for Sharia Business Units (UUS). DPS has a strategic responsibility in ensuring that all of the Company’s business activities are in line with Islamic sharia principles.
Supervision of the Company’s Activities
Conducting periodic supervision of all the Company’s activities to ensure their conformity with sharia principles.
Fulfillment of Shariah Principles in Products
Assess and ensure that every product issued by the Company is in accordance with applicable sharia principles.
New Product Development Supervision
Oversee the development process of new products to ensure their compliance with sharia regulations before the product is launched.
Proposed Development of Sharia Business Units (UUS)
Providing recommendations related to the development of UUS to UUS Leaders, Board of Directors, and Board of Commissioners to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of sharia businesses.
Reporting to the National Sharia Council (DSN) MUI
Report the development of sharia products and operational activities to DSN-MUI at least twice in one fiscal year.
Formulation of Problems to Be Discussed with DSN - MUI
Formulate important issues that require further clarification or discussion with DSN-MUI.
The duties and authorities of the DPS are guided by the Decree of the Leadership Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) No. Kep-98/MUI/III/2001. This role ensures that all of the Company’s business policies remain within the framework of sharia principles, while building trust among stakeholders.
Membership of the Sharia Supervisory Board
The appointment and appointment of Dr. Luqyan Tamanni as DPS has resulted in:
- Recommendation of the National Sharia Council (DSN) MUI through Letter No. U-515/DSN-MUI/VIII/2017 dated August 30, 2017.
- Approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) through the Fit and Proper Test Number KEP-50/ NB.22/2017 dated October 6, 2017.
Frequency and Manner of Giving Advice and Suggestions as well as Supervision of the Fulfillment of Sharia Principles
In carrying out its duties, the Company’s Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS) carries out its duties and functions of communicating by providing advice and suggestions on the supervision of the fulfillment of the Company’s sharia principles.
The Sharia Supervisory Board actively provides advice and suggestions to the Company through the Head of the Sharia Business Unit. Advice and suggestions submitted by the Sharia Supervisory Board during 2024 include :
- Discuss the development of the UUS business that has been implemented in 2024 and the development plan.
- Discuss the Distribution of Ta’zir Balance for Social activities.
- Discuss development reports and other issues related to Sharia Financing and monitor the growth of Sharia Business Unit performance.
- Provide input and opinions on the Umrah agency rewards.
